We are a landscape supply yard, not an advertising business. We collect what we need to quote a job, deliver it and stay in touch about it, and nothing else. This page says exactly what that means.

Who we are

This website is run by Levin Landscape Depot, 52A Main Road South, Levin (Turn between Orizen Tyres & Granite Tops and drive all the way to the end). If you want to talk to a person about anything on this page, ring 027 946 1702 or email contactlldepot@gmail.com.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you type in. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.

  • If you send a message from the contact page: your name, the phone number or email address you give us, and what you wrote.
  • If you send a quote request from the cart: your name, phone number and email address, the delivery address, what you asked for, the delivery date and time you preferred, and any notes you added.
  • If we go on to quote or deliver: we keep that quote and, if it becomes an order, the delivery details with it, so the yard has a record of what was agreed.

We do not ask for and never store card or bank details. Nothing on this website takes a payment.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie, and only for yard staff: it keeps a staff member signed in to the admin area after they log in. If you are a customer browsing the site, no cookie is set at all.

There is no Google Analytics here, no advertising pixel, no tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are unless you tell us.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or trade your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. A small number of services are involved in making the site work, and it is only fair to name them.

  • Google reCAPTCHA checks that a form submission comes from a person rather than a bot. Google receives your IP address and some information about your browser when you submit a form, under their own privacy terms.
  • Google Maps and Google Places power the map on our contact page and the address suggestions in the quote cart. When you type a delivery address, that address is sent to Google to look up and to measure the distance from the yard.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site is set in, and Unsplash serves some of the photographs. Both see your IP address when your browser fetches those files, as it does with any image or font hosted elsewhere.
  • Amazon Web Services delivers our email. When we send you a quote or a confirmation, your email address and the contents of that message pass through AWS in order to reach you.

We would also hand information over if the law required it of us. That has never happened.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Your details are stored on the server that runs this website, and are reachable only by yard staff who have signed in. We keep enquiries, quotes and orders for as long as they are useful to the yard, an old quote is often the quickest way to answer “what did we put in last time?” so there is no fixed date on which they are deleted. If you would rather we did not keep yours, say so and we will remove it.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. You can also ask us to delete it. Ring 027 946 1702 or email contactlldepot@gmail.com and we will sort it out. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this page

If we change what we collect or who it reaches, we will change this page and move the date at the top.
